1031 exchanges are one of the most effective ways to defer taxation on the sale of real and personal property held for productive use in a trade or business, or for investment. Although compliance with the regulations may first seem complex, there is some consistency in the rationale for their application. But even better, the return on your investment will be much higher and with little additional risks as long as you do your homework and plan accordingly; all of which doesn’t require more capital – just some forethought and planning!
